The belief by the dizzying balance

Rohe is originated from the desire to create a piece of furniture with powerful, austere lines, with a strong visual impact. The composition sets a wooden volume, of which the main features are the properties of the material and construction details, against an iron base, that conceals its nature and its own static function. Therefore, a tectonic volume suspended on a base that, like the pillars of the German Pavilion in Barcelona in 1929 described by Kenneth Frampton, seems to be “an abstraction of the idea of support” in which “the shape itself transfers a supportive action in a somehow intangible way”*. A conventional static absence that gives life to a cupboard with an elegant line at rest in a dizzying balance.

Marco Mellina Gottardo
Degree in architecture at the Politecnico di Milano is responsible for furnishing since the higher studies concluded with honors from the Institute Fausto Melotti by Cantu. Born in Brianza, as the artisans who have inhabited, is committed as part of the build interpreting the act of design as an ascetic in which to search for their identity. Restless, quiet, imaginative, apparently can be classified as minimalist but his effort tends not only to the study of form.
